Tiny Teacup Gingerbread Houses

Have you seen these tiny teacup gingerbread houses around on the Internet?

Aren't they just gorgeous!

I was wondering the other day who came up with this super cute idea and as far as I can see it was Megan from Not Martha.

You can find her recipe and tutorial here.

Looking around for a recipe and tutorial I also found this Aussie recipe!

I think these are just gorgeous and are held together with white chocolate!

The basic gingerbread dough is here and the template is here.

I have not made our gingerbread house this year, but this might end up being as far as I get!  In fact, I am super keen to spend a whole day in the kitchen making our favourite Christmas recipes!

Seasame Street Party

This is not supposed to be a party blog so bear with me while I go off on these party ideas tangents :)

I have been eyeing off Sesame Street parties since I made these cupcakes for a friend's birthday!

I love the bright characters and the easy, fun food and decorations are!  Unfortunately none of my girls have been fans of Sesame Street so this might be the extent of my little obsession.

Valentines Day Memory and Ideas

Valentines day 1995, I was 15 and Josh was 22.  I don't remember what we did but I remember the anticipation very well.

I was at college and Josh invited me to meet him for lunch.  I was SO excited!  The day and moment could not come fast enough!

It was that day that Josh first told be he loved me!  He gave me a tape, it was him singing a love song he wrote to me.  So sweet!  He was so nervous about it!  I sought out a walkman from my college friends and listened to the tape at least 100 times!  I memorized the lyrics, everything!  I still remember the song so well.  I need to find that tape....

When you look, into my eyes,
The feeling that I feel I can't deny....

I'll spare you the agony of the rest of the song!

We celebrate valentines day every year.  Not with teddy bears holding love hearts and the comercialiesd roses and chocolates but we celebrate the day to reflect the love we have for each other and the anniversary of the 'that day' 17 years ago!

Here are a few cute little recipes, tutorials and inspiration that can make valentines day even sweeter!

We're not doing anything particularly special together on valentines day this year.  I'll make a nice dinner and we'll have a special dinner with the family.  We'll tell the girls how special it is to save the first kiss their future husbands.  They are doing this program in Sunday School this term.  Josh and I are looking forward to Wednesday when we'll drive to Cooma to pick up the new puppy and stop somewhere on the way for a special brunch!

Happy valentines for tomorrow!

Wooden Fishing Game

Olivia went down perfectly again today (I think she was so tired after her play-date). It was a perfect opportunity to get some more painting done on the deck.....but I got side tracked ;)

Instead I found this game. Isn't it cute! It's from here. I found it via the Crafty Cow. I had to share it!

I have a soft spot for wooden toys. It seems so easy to make too! I'm thinking this may be a good project for the summer holidays.

Pom Pom Flowers

I love these pom pom flowers. I have used them to decorate several times this year and I love how they can transform a room so quickly.

Just thought I'd share the link I use for making them over at Martha Stewart.

Rolled Paper Rose Tutorial

Just thought I'd share a tutorial I found for these pretty paper roses. I've put some on my most recent layout which I may post later. They're so easy to make and can be cut with scolloped scissors for a different effect. You can find the tutorial here at 'Lime Tart'.

Sweet knitting!

I recently stumbled upon these cute knitted cupcakes at Patchwork Pottery. They're made by RecycleMicol. I've searched the Internet for some knitted cupcake patterns and found this one. I think I'll have to leave it on Mum's coffee table with some yarn - although I think these one's here are just incredibly cute in their little box! I love that crochered flower! Does anyone know if they're difficult?

Just me and Olivia!

I'm looking forward to a day today with just me and Olivia today. It seemed very strange to drop both girls off at the same time but I'm really looking forward to spending more time with Olivia. Olivia really does love her sisters but sometimes she just likes to explore on her own rather than being pulled every which way so I'm sure she'll enjoy the time too!Well now that Olivia is down for her nap I have at least 3 hours to myself. I'm going to get started on this pretty pencil roll found here!Happy Friday!

Cupcake Turtle

I had SO much fun tonight making this turtle. The girls and I were watching a DVD that kept on freezing (don't you hate that!) so we gave up and made this turtle. We are going to make cupcakes tomorrow with more of these turtles but I'm not sure that this turtle is going to make it on anyone's cupcake as Sarah has claimed this one as a family pet!
Thanks Louise for your generous tutorial!!
